Bella Voce is now a 38-member multigenerational group dedicated to excellence in choral singing. BROOKLYN AMERICAN YOUTH SOCCER ORGANIZATION (AYSO) REGION 0473
AYSO is a nationwide non-profit organization that develops and delivers quality youth soccer programs in a fun, family environment based on AYSO's Five Philosophies:
» Everyone Plays - Our program’s goal is for kids to play soccer—so we mandate that every player on every team must play at least half of every game.
» Balanced Teams - Each year we form new teams as evenly balanced as possible—because it is fair and more fun when teams of equal ability play.
» Open Registration - Our program is open to all children between 4-1/2 and 19 years of age who want to register and play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing.
» Positive Coaching - Encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment by the players and ultimately leads to better-skilled and better-motivated players.
» Good Sportsmanship - We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of AYSO.

All of our classes are hands-on, process-driven and focused. Students of all ages explore a set of materials, a theme, or an area of study in depth. BROOKLYN WING TZUN KUNG FU SCHOOL
Our Mission: To Teach the System Wing Tzun and it's Philosophy as a way of life. WT grows out of the Taoist tradition in Chinese Philosophy - "Tao" means " The Way." It signifies life's eternal movement of growing, blooming, fading away, and never-ending renewal. To achieve his unity with the Tao, man must become as the Tao: spontaneous, open, simple, and flexible - not hard and arrogant. When using Wing Tzun in self-defense or applying its principles in every day life, one becomes like a river flowing to the sea. Even if a mountain obstructs the river's flow it will not be stopped It will reach its goal naturally, unavoidably, while overcoming all obstacles on the way.

BROOKLYN WRITERS SPACE
The Brooklyn Writers Space was founded by playwrights Scott Adkins and Erin Courtney in 2002. Since opening, the Writers Space has served over 700 writers by providing a professional, respectful, and quiet environment for writers.
In 2007, the Brooklyn Writers Space partnered with the Brooklyn Artists Gym to establish a new kind of space. Room 58 provides everything the Writer Space does with an additional room for writers to take care of the business side of writing. In addition, the writer members share a beautiful bright 10,000 square foot loft space with the visual artist members of the Brooklyn Artists Gym.
In 2010, the Brooklyn Writers Space opened another quiet only space on Court Street to serve the writers of Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Red Hook and Boerum Hill. This space is a classic Carroll Gardens store front.
All spaces provide writers with a desk, a lamp and a chair on a first come first serve basis. Coffee is always on hand, as well as provide your own paper printing, wi-fi(if you are trying to get away from the internet we can help you with that too), storage ($30 per quarter), and kitchenette lounge areas for socializing.
Each space is unique by location and by services, the Garfield location has a roof deck with monster tomato plants, Room 58 has a HUGE bright lounge with really comfy couches, and the Court Street location has plenty of books and very comfy reading lounge. All spaces are accessible 24/7.

CHOCOLATE CHIP CHAMBER MUSIC
Chocolate Chip Chamber Music made its debut as a children’s chamber music series in May 2006. Located in the heart of Park Slope, Brooklyn, the series features professional musicians in engaging and interactive mini-concerts designed for two to six year olds. The concerts are comprised of an opening chocolate chip cookie theme song “sing-along,” and a number of very brief musical selections performed by the musicians. “Baker Bobbie” serves as the emcee and mascot, and often finds her way out of a perplexing problem with the help of the audience and the musicians. Each piece of music is introduced in such a way as to involve the listeners fully – from clapping games to movement and acting. Programs are typically tied to a particular theme such as dance or storytelling, so as to further educate and inspire children and parents. Performances end with instrument demonstrations – a hands-on experience for curious preschoolers, and a chocolate chip cookie for all in attendance.

CONGREGATION B'NAI JACOB OF PARK SLOPE (JEWISH, ORTHODOX/MODERN)
Congregation B’nai Jacob is a family-friendly Orthodox synagogue in Park Slope. A warm, welcoming and diverse community reflective of Park Slope’s character is a feature of the synagoge, and the building is more than a century old and recently restored.
Rabbi Shimon Hecht is the community’s Rabbi and hosts a Parsha lecture every Wednesday night at the synagogue. Daily classes cover a broad range of Jewish interest from Maimonodies in the morning to evening lectures on Torah, Chassidut, Kabbalah and Halacha. A regular rotation of Shabbatons, guest speakers and Carlebach-style Kabbalat Shabbattim offer new comers opportunities to add a new dimension to their Jewish social life and culture in Park Slope.
The additional feature of Congregation B’nai Jacon is morning davening minyan that is open to all, and offers Kaddesh and welcomes beginner daveners.
Join us for a Shabbat and let us welcome you.

Friends provides planning, advocacy, research and administrative resources to supplement the limited capacities and budget of the Community Board, thus enabling the Board properly to carry out its City Charter-mandated task of evaluating the needs of and advocating on behalf of its communities. Through this balance of public and private resources, Friends of Community Board 6 aims to drive the balanced growth of all the communities it serves.

HEARTS AND HOMES FOR HOMELESS DOGS, INC.
Hearts and Homes for Homeless Dogs, Inc. is a nonprofit (501)c organization. Since 1990, Founders Mel Salamone and Roseann Savasta, have dedicated themselves to caring for Brooklyn’s homeless, abandoned and abused dogs. Every humanly, possible effort is made to comfort, heal and nurture these animals until they can be placed in good homes. All rescued dogs, and the more than occasional cat or kittens, are spayed or neutered and must be up to date on vaccinations before they can be adopted. Together with Todd Puma, Jamie Benson, Laurie Bleier and the many volunteers and foster parents, Hearts and Homes has placed more than 1,500 dogs, working seven days a week.

KOLOT CHAYEINU/VOICES OF OUR LIVES (JEWISH, PROGRESSIVE)
Kolot Chayeinu/Voices of Our Lives is a Jewish congregation in Brooklyn, where doubt can be an act of faith and all hands are needed to build our community. We are creative, serious seekers who pray joyfully, wrestle with tradition, pursue justice and refuse to be satisfied with the world as it is. As individuals of varying sexual orientations, races, family arrangements, and Jewish identities and backgrounds, we share a commitment to the search for meaningful expressions of our Judaism in today's uncertain world.

LESBIAN HERSTORY ARCHIVES
Our Mission and Principles
From the beginning the Archives' founders developed a statement of purpose and a set of principles to guide the development of the collection. We adhere to these purposes and principles today.
Statement of Purpose: The Lesbian Herstory Archives exists to gather and preserve records of Lesbian lives and activities so that future generations will have ready access to materials relevant to their lives. The process of gathering this material will uncover and collect our herstory denied to us previously by patriarchal historians in the interests of the culture which they serve. We will be able to analyze and reevaluate the Lesbian experience; we also hope the existence of the Archives will encourage Lesbians to record their experiences in order to formulate our living herstory.
We will collect and preserve any materials that are relevant to the lives and experiences of Lesbians: books, magazine, journals, news clippings (from establishment, Feminist or lesbian media), bibliographies, photos, historical information, tapes, films, diaries, oral histories, poetry and prose, biographies, autobiographies, notices of events, posters, graphics and other memorabilia.

NEW YORK MEMORY CENTER
New York Memory Center is a freestanding, nonprofit, community-based agency providing services to adults with memory loss, their caregivers and families. New York Memory Center operates two day programs: the Lotus Club, an early intervention and support program for those experiencing the earliest stages of Alzheimer's and related dementias, and Memory Life Services, a program that provides more extensive services suitable for adults with middle to later stage memory loss. Accessible transportation with door-to-door escorts is available to most Brooklyn neighborhoods. Daily programs include therapeutic arts, poetry, music, and exercise; one-on-one computer cognitive training classes; peer support group; morning coffee and midday hot meal.
Our mission is to help adults in our community with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias to maintain and/or improve their level of functioning so they can enjoy their later years. We believe that human beings, regardless of age or degree of impairment, can benefit from continuing to participate in the life of a community where they are accepted and have opportunities to experience a sense of purpose and success. Our members are not pressured to be anyone they are not, and they are encouraged to be everything they can.

NEW YORK WRITERS COALITION
NY Writers Coalition Inc. (NYWC) provides free and low-cost creative writing workshops throughout New York City for people from groups that have been historically deprived of voice in our society. We also publish our workshop participants' writing and organize public readings of their work. Writing with others in an atmosphere of respect and acceptance, participants discover the value of their own stories, gain confidence and a stronger sense of self and become less isolated from themselves and from society. By creating a community of writers and leaders from diverse backgrounds, we galvanize the voices of the marginalized and create opportunities for all writers to connect with the larger community. NYWC's goal is to create an inclusive city, one that is aware of the diversity of voices within it and honors the lives of all of its citizens.

We rehearse on Monday evenings in the lower level of St. Saviour Church, at the corner of 8th Avenue and 6th Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn and perform in concert twice a year, usually in January and June. Each concert is followed by a reception with refreshments that the singers provide.

PUBLIC SCHOOL 321 - THE WILLIAM PENN SCHOOL (K321)
PS 321 is a vibrant and diverse educational community. In our heterogeneously grouped classrooms, children of many different ethnic groups learn to become part of a classroom and school community that fosters not only tolerance, but also true respect for all people. We help children learn to think creatively and analytically. Our standards-based curriculum recognizes that all children can learn when they have clear expectations within rigorous classrooms. We recognize that children learn in a variety of ways, however, and that we need to be sensitive to differences in learning styles and to provide additional support to children who need it. In our school, children, teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff are part of a community of learners.

RIVENDELL SCHOOL
Rivendell School is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1995 to provide inclusive early childhood education programs to children aged zero to six years with atypical developmental profiles. Focussing on children in New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn, Rivendell provides multi-disciplinary evaluations and special education itinerant teacher and clinical services to children and families, free of charge, regardless of race, gender, religious belief, or socioeconomic status.
Rivendell provides services in the least restrictive environment possible: community nursery schools, day care centers, Head Start Programs, and Rivendell’s own Children’s House, a preprimary Montessori school that serves as a model of inclusive early childhood education. Every effort is made to reach the most disenfranchised families in our communities to help link them to the services their children are entitled by law.
Rivendell’s educational philosophy is rooted in a belief in the power and ability of each child as a learner and social being. We are also committed to an approach that values shared perspectives: our administrators, itinerant teachers, and clinicians collaborate with families, schools and centers, and colleagues at other agencies to ensure that the needs of each child are met.

SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER SCHOOL
Our school has been a very vital presence within the parish and community since 1914. The current faculty and student body carries on that long tradition. Our educational standards here at St. Francis are high as we strive to educate the whole child, preparing each to live in a fast changing world. We try to equip the children with fine educational tools and a good sense of Christian moral values so that they are prepared to face the challenges they will meet as they endeavor to lead productive lives as adults.
The faculty and students of St. Francis Xavier School attempt to live the Gospel message of Jesus and experience the presence of the Holy Spirit. In and through this Spirit, we encourage and support one another as we strive to become one in a Community of Faith. St. Francis Xavier School is founded on the belief that an individual develops as a free person, aware of his/her own unique native origin and lives by the convictions well founded in that culture.
At St. Francis Xavier School we strive to instill in students the idea that the gaining of knowledge is a continual process.

SAINT JOHN'S CHURCH (EPISCOPAL)

We are perhaps the most diverse congregation in the Diocese of Long Island -- and quite proud to be! We count among our membership people from all over the world and all over the country. We are black, brown, white and all sorts of shades in between! We are old and young, gay and straight, economically well off and also poor. But we are all rich in spirit as we worship God and serve the world in Christ's name.

SAINT SAVIOUR HIGH SCHOOL
Saint Saviour High School was founded in 1917 under the aegis of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, an international teaching order headquartered in Rome. The school is among the pioneers in the education of young women. St. Saviour's college preparatory training in the Judeo-Christian tradition has long benefited many generations of upwardly mobile daughters of Kings County. Located in Park Slope, the largest Landmark Brownstone Neighborhood in the nation, St. Saviours is less than a block from the rolling greensward of Prospect Park and just over a block from the cosmopolitan shopping of Seventh Avenue. SPOKE THE HUB
Based in Brooklyn since 1979, Elise Long and Spoke the Hub Dancing have been hailed by the local press and public as "neighborhood treasures" and "cultural pioneers" creating the Living Room Performance Space on 9th Street (1980 - 84); the Gowanus Arts Exchange on Douglass Street (founded in 1985, relocated and renamed the Brooklyn Arts Exchange/BAX, still active as a separate organization); and the Spoke the Hub Re:Creation Center on Union Street (1995- present). The Gowanus Arts Building, a derelict soap factory bought and renovated in 1985 by Long with partners David Wolfe, Marc Eichen, Mary Ann Banerji and Jonathan Stewart, was the original home of Gowanus Arts Exchange. Now a 15,000 square foot multi-dimensional artists "habitat" , the Gowanus Arts Building offers affordable workspace to over a dozen performance, visual, musical, architectural, and multi-media artists, including Spoke the Hub. Spoke the Hub's mission is to nurture both individual and community health and happiness through providing the general public with affordable creative arts study, contemplation and practice opportunities of the highest caliber.

ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CHURCH
Our first pastor, Reverend David J. Hickey celebrated the first Mass of St. Francis Xavier of the Indies on September 19, 1886. The parish was named at the request of Father Hickey for his alma mater, St. Francis Xavier College in New York City.
Our current church building was dedicated on May 15, 1904. With over a thousand parishioners present, Monsignor David Hickey preached, “Amidst all the material work that has been accomplished, your spiritual interests and those of your children have not been neglected, and this grand church would be in vain if it were not a means to make our spiritual lives better and more beautiful…Your temple will preach a sermon to the passerby. Let your lives preach a sermon by example to all with whom you mingle.”
Our parish has grown much in the years since the first mass of the parish and the dedication of our church, but we pray our hearts and lives continue to serve as a blessing to each other and to our neighborhood.

TEXTILE ART CENTER
The main goal of the Textile Arts Center is to provide support to fiber artists, and everyday people interested in working with fiber, by acting as a resource facility and creative meeting place.
The Center is situated on Carroll Street, between Brooklyn’s leafy Park Slope and the gallery-rich Gowanus neighborhoods. It occupies a newly renovated, 3,200sf space in an old sweater factory. Two giant arched windows designate the street-level gallery and workspace.
With its curved felt-covered walls, custom-designed light grid, and plenty of worktables, the Center is designed to serve the established and emerging creative community of Brooklyn. It features state-of-the-art weaving, screen-printing and dyeing equipment, including 30 multi-harness floor looms, a large vacuum-sealed exposure unit and two fabric-yardage screen-printing tables, plus much more.
As a show of commitment to the fiber arts community, the Textile Arts Center will soon be offering residency positions to outstanding artists in the field, as well as affordable private workspaces with late night access to our studios.
Our space is also available for rent. If you have an event, show, or party you'd like to host at our space please give us a call.

THE LAMP (LEARNING ABOUT MULTIMEDIA PROJECT)
The LAMP strives to provide critical media literacy skills to the inter-related groups of youths, their parents and educators throughout New York City. Our media literacy workshops demystify the constant flow of media there three groups encounter, bridge the gap between generations, and provide workforce development skills for future generations. The LAMP's staff learns about and explores new media trends in order to properly steer the LAMP in the direction where it can provide the most benefit to the community-at-large.
