South Industrial Development Corporation provides advocacy and services to help businesses in the Sunset Park, Red Hook and Gowanus areas grow and create employment opportunities for local residents. Established in July 1994 and operative since September 1, 1994, the Southwest Brooklyn Empire Zone joins fifty-two other established zones as part of the State's efforts to stimulate growth in economically disadvantaged areas.
