BROOKLYN AMERICAN YOUTH SOCCER ORGANIZATION (AYSO) REGION 0473
AYSO is a nationwide non-profit organization that develops and delivers quality youth soccer programs in a fun, family environment based on AYSO's Five Philosophies: » Everyone Plays - Our program’s goal is for kids to play soccer—so we mandate that every player on every team must play at least half of every game. » Balanced Teams - Each year we form new teams as evenly balanced as possible—because it is fair and more fun when teams of equal ability play. » Open Registration - Our program is open to all children between 4-1/2 and 19 years of age who want to register and play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing. » Positive Coaching - Encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment by the players and ultimately leads to better-skilled and better-motivated players. » Good Sportsmanship - We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of AYSO.

BROOKLYN WING TZUN KUNG FU SCHOOL
Our Mission: To Teach the System Wing Tzun and it's Philosophy as a way of life. WT grows out of the Taoist tradition in Chinese Philosophy - "Tao" means " The Way." It signifies life's eternal movement of growing, blooming, fading away, and never-ending renewal. To achieve his unity with the Tao, man must become as the Tao: spontaneous, open, simple, and flexible - not hard and arrogant. When using Wing Tzun in self-defense or applying its principles in every day life, one becomes like a river flowing to the sea. Even if a mountain obstructs the river's flow it will not be stopped It will reach its goal naturally, unavoidably, while overcoming all obstacles on the way.

GOWANUS DREDGERS CANOE CLUB
The Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club is a volunteer organization that is dedicated to providing waterfront access and education to the public. We are located on the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, New York and run programs on the shorelines of Gowanus, Red Hook, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Staten Island and Long Island City. During the past season, over 1,000 individuals participated in our programs and we logged over 2,000 trips on the Gowanus Canal. As people experience and enjoy the waterfront through our programs, they become advocates for its revitalization. These efforts are proving to be fruitful. Due to the rise in popularity of canoeingt and kayaking on the Gowanus Canal, the City of New York has commenced construction an upgrade to the flushing pump that will improve the water quality of the Gowanus and the EPA has elected to designate the Gowanus Canal a superfund site, promising a cleaned waterway by 2023. All of our activities are free and our calendar will be updated as more events are scheduled. Our facilities are available to the general public to launch canoes, kayaks and rowboats.

METROPOLITAN ROD & GUN CLUB
For nearly three quarters of a century the Metropolitan Rod and Gun Club has been a meeting place for Brooklyn (and New York City) sportsmen (and, more recently, sportswomen). In 1932 a handful of Brooklyn hunting and fishing enthusiasts became the prime movers in the formation of the Club. It was incorporated on December 6, 1934. Today, Metro has over 250 members, representing a cross section of residents of the Greater New York Area. Metro members have hunted and fished throughout the continental United States, in Canada as far north as the Yukon, and in Alaska and the Arctic Circle. Our members have also visited Africa, the Far East, Mexico and South America. Metro pistol team members participate in Greater New York Pistol League competitions, and are perennial contenders for top honors in the League.
